Challenges into triumph

Bio
Pivoting from London’s bustling financial boardrooms to classrooms filled with eager students has been an exciting journey. Unfulfilled in my role as a strategy consultant, I became committed to mentoring and inspiring young minds to reach their full potential, aiming to emulate the transformative role models I encountered at Oakham School, Rutland.

My academic journey hasn’t been without challenge. Starting year 9 in set 8 of 8 for most classes, I had to apply myself relentlessly, rethink my revision techniques, and remain determined. By sixth form, I was a high-achieving student, obtaining full marks in my Mathematics A-level. I went on to earn a First-Class degree in Chemical Engineering and a Master’s in Management from two world-class institutions. These accomplishments in such rigorous subjects are a testament to my dedication, aptitude, and passion—qualities I aim to instil in the students I teach.

I also hold a PGCE in Secondary Mathematics with QTS (Qualified Teacher Status), enabling me to combine professional expertise with proven teaching practice to deliver engaging, impactful lessons.

“Mukhtar possesses an enthusiastic disposition and delivers a lesson focused on making maths fun and engaging for the pupil. Mukhtar’s key skill was asking the student to review their own learning and describe what they liked and struggled with, which helped Mukhtar take into account their possible gaps and preferred teaching approach.. Mukhtar maintained open communication with the student throughout the lesson and is clearly a passionate tutor"
